Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to explore and analyze the job satisfaction and performance of teachers. The study adopts the case study design and qualitative approach. This qualitative study explores the job satisfaction and affect the job satisfaction on performance of community school teachers in Nepal. The respondents were selected by purposive sampling. The result revealed that most of the secondary school teachers were dissatisfied. Especially, relief teachers and internal sources teachers were dissatisfied than the permanent teachers. Salary, unhealthy competition between teachers, irregularity of head teachers, politically biases and the parent’s negative attitude toward teachers were the main causes of job dissatisfaction. Permanent teacher’s involvement in different activities in school was low than the other teachers. Permanent teacher’s absenteeism in school as well as classroom was also low than the relief and internal source teachers. Relief and internal sources teachers have high dissatisfaction but they were presented and tried to complete their tasks in time.
